1. Prayer:
a. Read the opening prayer together as you begin (page 34).
2. Video:
a. Show the video segment for Trail Two to introduce the theme of "Up the Mountain with Jesus."
3. Trail Talk:
a. Lead a discussion on insights and experiences emerging from "My Witness Journal" assignments. What happens when you mention Jesus’ name in conversations? How did the woman at the well recognize Jesus as a prophet?
4. Jesus as Prophet:
Q1: What descriptive words come to mind when you think of a prophet?
(1) Does God still call prophets "while still in the womb?"
(2) What are the marks of a prophet?
(3) What is the classic test of a "true" prophet?
(4) Could you have been Nathan and confronted the great King David about his sin of murder and adultery?
Q2: Do you know any modern day prophets?
Q3: Which fulfilled prophecies about Jesus as the Messiah come to your mind?
5. Jesus as Teacher:
Q4: Who was (or is) one of your favorite teachers (school, Sunday School, etc.)? What is it about them that made (makes) them one of your favorites?
Q5: What did Jesus teach?
(1) How did Jesus teach? What can we learn from Jesus (Rabbi / Teacher) about teaching others about faith issues?
Exercise on Page 37 Which of Jesus’ teachings created the most controversy? What would a teacher have to "teach" today to cause controversy?

a. Review what we have covered this week.
b. Assignments for Next Week
(1). Reading Assignment:
(a) As you read the chapter for next week (pages 39-44), underline or highlight special thoughts and answer the questions in the Q boxes.
(b) Complete the daily Bible readings and place your reflections, questions and insights in your "My Witness Journal"
