Trail Four, Session 16 = The Great Commission

1. Prayer:

a. Talk about your witnessing experiences during the week.

b. Reading the prayer on page 93.

2. Trail Talk:

a. What is a disciple? Would you know one if you saw one? Is it the same or different from being a Christian or a church member?

b. Did you ask someone else what they think it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ?

3. The Great Commission(s):

a. There is one in each of the gospels and one in Acts. Read them in your Bible and on page 94.

b. Which is the most helpful to you?

4. Matthew 28:16-20 (read aloud to the class <bottom right of page 95>):

a. If you had been one of the disciples on that hillside what would have thought?

b. Do you ever struggle with your confidence that Jesus is the final authority?

c. How do you resolve that with living out your faith?

5. The Great Commission Plan:

a. No "go", no "lo"!

b. GO MAKE BAPTIZE TEACH

(1) Go where?

(2) Make what?

(3) Baptize how?

(4) Teach what?

c. The grace promise (And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.)
