1. Prayer:
a. Talk about your witnessing experiences during the week.
b. Reading the prayer on page 99.
2. Trail Talk:
a. "The church is a kingdom community of Christ’s disciples who bear witness to God’s amazing grace available to all through Jesus Christ"
b. When you hear the word church, what do you think of? Are we talking about a denomination, institution, building or some other edifice that we build?
c. What are your memories of the church when you were very young?
d. When it is recorded in Acts that the Christians were all of one accord, what did that mean?
3. Four marks of Discipleship:
a. Love (John 13:34-35, page 100) Jesus wrapped up all of the Jewish law into one new command, what was it? Are you willing to die for someone?
b. Word (John 8:31-32, page 101) "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my life."
c. Cross (Luke 14:26-27, 33, page 102)
d. Fruit (John 15:7-8, page 103). Jesus really "lost it" twice in the gospels, once at thetemple with the money changers. What was the other occasion that Jesus really got angry and showed it? Find a listing of the Spirit’s fruit in Galations 5 (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control)
