Trail Five, Session 24 = My Witness as God’s Story (Vista Two)

1. Prayer:

a. Talk about your witnessing experiences during the week.

b. Share the prayer that you have written

2. Trail Talk & Role Play:

a. Write the following question on the board - "I guess I don’t really understand what you mean by being Christian". Ask the students to imagine that someone has just made that statement to them and take few minutes to formulate their answer. Then ask class members to share their responses.

3. The Power of the Story:

a. Q1: What are your three favorite stories of all time? Why?

b. What is the power of a story?

c. What the teaching method most often by Jesus in communications his thoughts to his followers.

d. How does a story differ from "just the facts"?

4. Telling Gospel Stories:

a. Do the Nicodemus story on page 144.

b. Take a story from the Bible and tell it like a story that today’s generation will understand. (Give students about 10 minutes to prepare their stories) and then have some share their stories.

c. It is the same old, old story - - just put in new wineskins.

5. Moving On:

a. Review what we have covered this week.

b. Assignments for Next Week

(1). Reading Assignment:

(a) As you read the chapter for next week (pages 147-151) underline or highlight special thoughts and answer the questions in the Q boxes.

(b) Complete the daily Bible readings and place your reflections, questions and insights in your "My Witness Journal"

c. Action Assignment:

(1) Complete the Action Assignment on page 146.
